A single positive thought

There are days when we struggle. When negativity takes hold. Thoughts often spiral out of control and take us to some unhelpful places. We could regret the past, or fear the future. It can be hard to break out of it, but there can be a way.

A single positive thought. Think of it as a spark of light in the dark.

We can help it grow. Snowball like the negativity. We can choose to focus on it and allow it to lead us to others. A thought about something we cherish, a time and place we look back on with appreciation or just a memory of something amusing.

We can give it fuel.

Even just remembering that those negative feelings are temporary should help. That our mood is often influenced by what’s going on in our body and that we will often feel different when we’ve rested.

So next time your mind isn’t where you’d like it to be. Remember this. Focus on that single positive thought. Help it grow.
